Official MOT information
CarSussed uses connected DVSA MOT information. The free registration check includes the returned MOT history, test results, recorded mileage, failures, defects and advisories. The £9.99 report adds licensed vehicle-history checks, valuation where available, a buying verdict and tailored guidance. CarSussed then analyses recurrence, timing, mileage progression and risk themes. An MOT pass is not a full mechanical inspection.
Licensed vehicle data
Where shown as connected and confirmed in the individual report, licensed Vehicle Data Global products can supply provenance, identity, model, valuation, tax, recall, tyre, image and related vehicle information. Availability varies by vehicle and product licence.
Buyer and seller information
Advert price, current mileage, seller type, service history, descriptions and photographs may come from the customer, the public advert or the seller. These are labelled as supplied, advert-derived or seller-stated and should be checked against the physical vehicle and paperwork.
CarSussed analysis
The buyer score, verdict, risk budget, questions, negotiation guidance and section explanations are derived CarSussed outputs. They combine available evidence under consistent buyer-focused rules. They are not raw provider fields and do not guarantee the purchase outcome.
Advert fraud screen
CarSussed checks for exceptionally low prices relative to conservative age/brand rules or a connected valuation, plus wording such as deposits before viewing, no-viewing claims and high-risk payment requests. A warning is not proof that a seller or advert is fraudulent. It blocks a BUY verdict and offer guidance until the seller, address, ownership and physical vehicle have been independently verified.
Decision safety gates
A high score cannot produce a BUY verdict unless the vehicle identity is usable, the relevant MOT evidence is acceptable and the core finance, stolen, write-off and scrapped/exported results are all clear. CarSussed withholds negotiation prices for stop-level results, unresolved core provenance, a current MOT failure, an expired recorded MOT or a material mileage concern.
Evidence coverage
The coverage percentage shows how much of the expected identity, MOT, provenance, advert, price, mileage, seller, service and valuation evidence was available. It is not the probability that a car is mechanically sound, genuine or free from hidden faults.
Status labels
- Confirmed: the named connected source returned the result for this report.
- Analysed: CarSussed drew a conclusion from one or more evidence points.
- Seller stated: a claim has been supplied but not independently verified.
- Unknown / not returned: CarSussed will not turn missing data into a clear result.
Timing and vehicle matching
Each report displays its generation time and sources. Provider records can change after the report is produced, so run a fresh check close to payment and retain the dated report. The full VIN is not displayed publicly; match it at the car against the V5C and permitted provenance evidence.
Advert websites
CarSussed can assess a vehicle advertised on Auto Trader or another marketplace without being connected to or endorsed by that marketplace. If an advert page does not expose usable details, the customer supplies the registration, asking price and mileage manually.
